Advancing EMS Through Education
BEST EMS provides comprehensive continuing education for EMTs and Paramedics designed to meet or exceed requirements established by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the National Registry.
Our goal is simple: give partner departments access to the continuing education their personnel need while on shift, reducing the need to seek additional training elsewhere.
Our ongoing 27-month CE program provides customized hours of education each month tailored to each department’s needs. Delivered by BEST EMS Medical Directors, specialty physician partners, and approved paramedic instructors.
Flexible, Experience-Led Education
Education is most effective when it connects directly to the challenges EMS providers encounter in the field. Our educators value opportunities to teach, exchange ideas, and engage directly with those providing front line care.
Training may include:
- Live classroom or virtual continuing education
- Recorded and voice-over presentations
- Case-based education and Grand Rounds
- Station Q&A during physician ride-outs
- “In the Moment” education following complex calls
- After-action reviews
- Discussions of emerging research and clinical recommendations
- Protocol review and education
Our Medical Directors also work directly with EMS training coordinators to identify educational priorities and ensure programming reflects each department’s needs.

These opportunities allow providers to strengthen clinical knowledge while developing practical skills they can apply in the field.
400+ Lectures and Growing
BEST EMS has provided continuing education to partner agencies and departments since 2013, building a library of more than 400 lectures, with new educational content developed regularly.
Our CE curriculum is reviewed and refreshed at least every two years to reflect current evidence-based practice, State of the Science, emerging research, and evolving EMS needs.
To continually improve our programming, we incorporate student evaluations, instructor feedback, system data, and recommendations from EMS and Fire leadership.
Education That Connects Medical Direction to the Field
Continuing education at BEST EMS goes beyond checking a certification box. It creates an ongoing connection between Medical Directors and the providers they support.
Through case discussions, ride-outs, formal CE, hands-on training, and direct collaboration with EMS leadership, we help departments translate the latest clinical evidence into better decision-making and better pre-hospital care.
